About our mental health services

Our mental health clinicians provide clients with a broad range of treatments and support including referrals to mental health services and short-term counselling and support.

Phone the NJC on 9087 5739 for assistance.

Outreach support

Clients experiencing a mental health issue or cognitive impairment, such as an acquired brain injury, can have short to medium term intensive outreach support.

Outreach support includes:

  • Assessment and referral to services
  • Support to identify personal goals
  • Help to find more meaning and purpose in life
  • Social and vocational activity connections.
  • Help to connect with other care and support services
  • Assistance to access the NDIS.

Outreach can last anywhere between three to 12 months, and is available in the following locations:

  • Neighbourhood Justice Centre
  • client's home
  • Yarra-based services centre.

Other support services

We don’t offer 24 hour crisis support, but someone is always on the phone day or night to help you, or someone you know.

If you live outside the City of Yarra you'll find a service for your area at  Victoria Mental Health Services (External link)

Wraparound support

Our treatment and support services wrap around our clients. That is, we'll get you the help you need.

If you are attending our court, your main point of contact will be your duty lawyer and they can put you in touch with our other services.

Our Neighbourhood Justice Officer will also help you navigate the justice system, put you in touch with support and generally be here to help you.

And you can talk to the friendly Court Network volunteers (External link)  before, during and after court.

And remember, regardless of whether are attending our court or not, if you're a local Yarra resident, we can help you to find the right support.
