Thank you to our volunteer JPs!
Last week, we caught up with Stephen Riches, the NJC’s Coordinating Justice of the Peace, and learned that since January, the service has already supported 150 clients and handled over 550 documents – including witnessing statutory declarations, certifying true copies, and more.
If you require the services of a JP, here are the available hours:
- Mondays: 10am–12pm
- Tuesdays: 4pm–6pm
No appointment necessary – feel free to drop by during these times.
What a JP can help with
- Witnessing statutory declarations
- Witnessing affidavits for court
- Certifying true copies of original documents
- Certifying a person’s identity
- Attesting the signing of documents
Things to know
- The JP service is free and open to everyone
- Our JP volunteers their time to provide an independent, objective witness
- JPs do not give legal advice
- Make sure your documents are ready before you arrive
